Betty J. Reed
Betty Jane Reed, 90, of West Union, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Eagle Creek Nursing Center. She was born April 25, 1933 in Portsmouth. She is preceded in death by parents: Roy and Agnes McGowan; husband, Hugh Reed; two sons: Daniel and Tim Reed and one daughter, Dottie Ann Reed.
Betty is survived by seven children: Joyce Unger of Lynx, Ohio, Diana Taylor of West Union, Ohio, Cathy Bailey of Christiana, Tennessee, John Reed of Manchester, Ohio, Brenda Reed of New Concord, Ohio, Jim Reed of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Jeff Reed of Christiana, Tennessee; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren and countless other family members.
Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The public visitation is 11 – 1 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Lafferty Funeral Home Incorporated, 205 South Cherry Street, West Union, Ohio 45693.
The public funeral is 1 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023, 2023 at Lafferty Funeral Home. Pastor Chad Burns will officiate.
The public interment is at Mt. Unger Cemetery, Mt. Unger Road, Otway, Ohio 45657.
